The Mt. Diablo Middle School Sports program provides competitive soccer (fall), basketball (winter), and flag football (spring) teams for all eligible middle school students who wish to tryout for a roster spot.  

Soccer (Fall)


Soccer tryouts will be held at the P.E. field on the following days and times:

  • Wednesday, September 5 from 2:00-3:00pm.
  • Wednesday, September 12 from 2:00-3:00pm.

All students that have a signed permission slip in the office will be allowed to tryout. If your child cannot attend tryouts on the 29th, please have them report to tryouts on September 5th and 12th.

COACHES The soccer coach this year is Ms. Ballard, our Spanish teacher. She will make the final decision on team rosters, practice plans, playing time, and game strategy. We are currently looking for a second coach to support Ms. Ballard.
TEAMS We will have one or two teams depending on the grade level of students that make the team. (Due to restrictions on the number of players allowed, only 45 total students can be in the soccer program.) 
PRACTICES Once students have been selected to participate on a team, practices will be on Wednesdays at the PE field from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
ACADEMICS Academic records will be checked each Friday before a scheduled game. Students with an ‘F’, or any disciplinary actions on their record will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming game.
JERSEYS Jerseys will be passed out during brunch on Friday, September 14. This jersey is a loaner. If lost or misplaced, your student could incur a replacement fee of $35. After the playoff games in October, your student should return the CLEAN jersey to the office.

Our first game is against Foothill on September 17. We have three regular season games, and then playoffs that finish in October (if applicable).

  • 9/17: Pine Hollow at Foothill
  • 9/24: No Game (BYE)
  • 10/1: Valley View at Pine Hollow
  • 10/8: Diablo View at Pine Hollow
  • 10/15: No Games
  • 10/22: Playoffs
  • 10/29: Championships
PERMISSION SLIP If your student wants to play soccer at Pine Hollow, the Field Trip Permission Slip must be returned to the main office by Friday, August 31. Go to to print and complete the permission slip, or pick one up in our main office.
